TVRS’ leadership and management team are suitably qualified and experienced in maintaining a stable, professional and fully trained workforce. The close monitoring and regular supervision of all staff help to achieve this. Monthly staff meetings ensure that all staff are fully informed of revisions to policies, procedures and young adult’s care plans.

We encourage the free expression of every young adult’s wishes and feelings. We support and engage with young adults. Working with them and enabling them to express their views and contribute to decisions relating to their own care and development of independence. We fully support them to express their voice in their care planning and other meetings with professionals.

Co-produces, and reviews activity schedules, ensuring that the formats are appropriate to individual needs. We monitor a young adult’s ability to engage and achieve, and are workers are skilled in supporting young adults to participate in local activities and networks, and to develop new hobbies, skills and interests.

Fully supports and encourages young adults to access an independent advocate. We celebrate achievement, by encouraging, and supporting young adults to increase their social awareness and development of positive stable relationships

We are committed to keeping young adult’s safe and protected from all forms of abuse and harm by ensuring there is a thorough and current risk assessment of each young adult which is reflective of their needs. By engaging in a robust safer recruitment process for all new staff recruits and ensuring that they undertake adequate and appropriate levels of training to meet the needs of the young adults. All staff receive a full induction programme, shadowing opportunities and development opportunities are reviewed at each supervision.

The Vine Residential Services (TVRS) through Schankin House aims to achieve positive outcomes for all young adults. We do this by encouraging a positive sense of “self” which is evidenced by how we respond to a young adult’s individuality and preferences through a person-centred approach. This means we treat them with dignity and respect regardless of their race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion, economic status or any other protected characteristics.

Supports all young adult’s educational and career aspirations by working in partnership with external providers to identify potential barriers to learning or employment and opportunities to achieve in these areas. We also work in close partnership with placing authorities and other external agencies to ensure the educational and social needs of the young adults are being met.
